How To Hide That Mom’s Pooch?
I have come to terms with my body, after having a child. Motherhood is a
feeling that can be as blissful as you want it to be. However, you have to
admit, that the body is never the same. And, how could it be? With that tiny
tot growing inside you, your skin is stretched and the organs also play
hide-and-seek inside the torso. Once, you deliver, you can notice that
shapeless belly of yours hanging loosely. It is way different from a belly that
was fat at one point, and then lost weight. It is more than just stretch marks,
and I know how it feels.
Firstly, you need to be proud of your body. I guess, no woman will trade
this experience for the pre-pregnancy body. Why do you need to hide your happiness?
It is like a mark of honor. However, clothes and perfect styling can make any
woman feel confident. It can also help you to make your mark. After your
maternity leave is over, you may want to go back to work. So, that is where the
challenge starts.
Today, I am going to share some maternity clothing tips with you. Based on my experience, and what I found out from a few other women, you could try these and feel confident about your external appearance once again.
Choosing Maternity Clothes After
Delivery
·
High Waist Pants are a great option, in styles like Culottes or Palazzos. Just ensure
that, they are not too flowy. You can go for fabrics like cotton, khadi, or
linen, which have a crispiness of their own.
·
A Line Dresses with an empire waistline can also make you look slimmer. It also tends
to hide the mom’s pooch. You can also add a waist belt, to give the appearance
of an hourglass figure.
·
Swing Style Dresses are also a great addition to any new mommy’s wardrobe. Gathered tiers also
give you a smooth all-over look, while hiding your cone-shaped belly. However,
ensure to wear these dresses in a thick fabric, and not something too thin that
may have a tendency to cling to your body.
·
Peplum Style Tops look great, on new moms, with a post-partum belly, as well. They are
clinched at the waist or just below the bust line. So, the belly is
automatically hidden. You can wear such maternity clothes in crepe, satin, or
rayon. The flowier, the fabric, the better you look.
·
Boxy Tops with
extended sleeves are also a rage today. They mostly come in oversized varieties.
They are made from stiff fabrics, so as to give your torso a structure. Your
belly also gets hidden beneath. You can pair such tops with skirts, tights,
leggings, trousers, or just about anything.
·
Kimonos, Bat-winged tops, and Dolman sleeves also look great. The design and structure of such
styles draw attention away from the belly area.
Prints and Colors
It also makes sense to keep the color palette and designs in mind,
before choosing your attire. Go for small prints that include florals,
geometric shapes, abstract artwork, or vertical stripes. Light colors may
reveal the belly size, which you might be trying to hide. Go for shorter tops,
to break the monotony from the torso to the bottom. Dark colors like black,
navy blue, and crimson, will help you to look slim. So, go for such colors, in
your maternity clothes.
There are online stores like Live
It Up-Life Fashion Style, which
offer such clothes. You can try out their easy breezy clothes, if you live in a
tropical country. The tops are made from breathable fabrics and are extremely airy.
Choose from a wide range of styles and designs as well. Who said, that maternity
wear has to be boring?
